The State Wide Equipment Program (SWEP) provides Victorian people who either have a permanent or long-term disability or are frail aged with subsidised aids, equipment and home and vehicle modifications to enhance their independence and facilitate community participation.

About DES

Domiciliary Equipment Service (DES) provides equipment and home modification services assisting people to be independent at home and in the community.

DES provides equipment to:
• Clients of the DCSI Equipment Program (includes Disability and Domiciliary Care Services, Novita Children’s Services and Minda Inc)
• Participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
• Patients of hospitals
• Clients of non-government oganisations

Each program will have its own assessment requirements for clients using equipment services from DES. A prescription will need to be provided to DES detailing each person’s particular needs. DES will then deliver and install the items using trained staff where possible.
